Film can take you almost anywhere. Whether a filmmaker shooting on location or an audience member transported by the silver screen, part of the fundamental magic of cinema is that it is a vehicle of and for travel, a device and a art that enable us to experience new places and realities. We decided therefore to devote our central theme for this Issue to some (but hardly all!) ways to travel inside and outside of the screen. We hope that even at home, holding this Issue, you can feel yourself magically taken somewhere else, be that on that art rich exhibition tour within Germany or to a iconic New York landmark that stands as a crossroads for movement and moviemaking.
